Flocked decoys

I doubt if this exists, but does anyone know if there is a flat sealant to spray over flocked decoys to improve their durability without affecting their appearance?
Thanks

I was thinking about that a few years back. I was going to try using a clear satin spray finish on some decoys by I decided to just do the flocking over when they start looking shabby. There still lookin good so I never tried it.
Let us know how you make out.

I haven't tried it but you might consider some of the flat waterproofing sprays for suede and other leathers. I was cleaning/treating some of the tables at the lake house and had some spray for leather (we have some leather topped tables). After reading the label, I decided it wasn't what I wanted for the tops but it is recommended as a spray on water proofing/stain proofing for suede and leathers. I can get the brand name later today if you need.

Thanks, and if it isn't a problem to give me the name, I'll at least give it try. Can always reflock if necessary. Maybe learn something one way or another. Appreciate the assistance.

I have painted right over them with rustoleum. In particular, this is a good idea with white flocking because it seems to pick up dirt and color very easily.

then once the flocking gets messed up as it inevitably does, just paint over the rest with a matching color. You will probably like the results. :)

I use Krylon clear acrylic flat matte 1311 as a protective, paint hardening cover on new plastic decoys before Rustoleum based flocking. With a previously flocked decoy, this clear flat matt will not affect the color or have much impact on texture, adds a protective coating and is a quick, easy do.

Also, the previously posted idea of just adding another light layer of similar color Rustoleum works. This will slightly impact texture.
