Follow up on rocky river shallow running

Thanks for all the great input and links, you guys are a great resource! Of course, good buddy Tod stuck me on hold with some irrefutable logic, try it and see if it is worth doing! If it is worth doing then does it run well enough to have a fixed bracket or do I need an adjustable jack plate. Then there’s the low water inlet nose cone at Larry’s source (bobsmachine.com) if I really want to get crazy. Probably too crazy for the shallow 14-ft hull but way cool to think about.

Will discuss results this spring when weather permits testing.

Hey Scott; I have used the Mac's river runner rock guard--Cabelas and it worked very well for my application which was similare to y yours. I might suggest you load everything forward possible and wiggle through the rocky places then open her up and run if the bottom permits. You might consider in addition to your battery? gas tank, etc. that should be forward to through your gunning bag and decoy bag up there also then just grab them and move them so your boat's attitude is what you like. The jack plates and all that stuff are really not necessary---I tried those also.

Yeah Scott, put your decoy BAG on the bow. Hahah ah ah ah aha ha ha ah. No joke on you Jerry, but if you ever saw how many goose fullbodies that scott carries in that boat. Yes, he has them on the bow, usually two bags and then bags and bags in the cockpit and individuals jammed here and there. I stopped hunting with him when he suggested he bring a tub of KY to help fit just a few more in "here and there".
