getting hold of faraway duck stuff

A question about the classifieds...before I discovered this site and when Craigslist was linked to Zoom, I spent a couple days looking for pintail decoys (preferably Model72 Herters) and for any Restles I could find. I stumbled across several L L Bean coastals for amazing prices. But all were all over the country and I couldn't figure out the logistics. Same things applies to duckboats. I don't run a business so I don't have a UPS or other shipping account where I could supply a number and the shipper would pick up. I have worked with businesses that did this for me when I was shipping to them and all I needed was the number.

If I could tell a decoy seller just box 'em up and UPS will pick up and deliver, I think that might work. So my question: Any business types on this site who have a relationship with UPS or another shipper who might be able to negotiate for such a number on behalf of duckboats.net that could then be conveyed to a buyer/seller? This would of course be independent of the actual sales transaction. Maybe if one of the shippers saw a possible market share being underserved (hundreds of duck hunters always wanting some new gadget)we could look forward to being able to get delivery nationwide at minimal trouble for the seller. Maybe even a trucking firm would be interested--back in the day I had a buddy whose daddy was an apple farmer and when semis were coming back empty from haul apples to the east coast they would sling a duck boat in back for a minmal charge.
Or is this just wishful thinking these days? Bill Burkett

You know, my dad spent most of his life in Kentucky and he developed paranoia too. Is it the water?

Nah, in my experience people from Kentucky are just straight shooters and you know where you stand with them. No hidden agendas with those folk. Maybe some of Kentucky just rubbed off on your father.

I found that post about the truck service that bids on delivery of items such as duck boats from far away! Great information! The fella also mentioned a good search engine for scanning Craigs List, but I didn't write it down--mistake at my age--can't remember. I fumbled around with a couple of them--several are shut down due to legal issues--cease and desist orders from white shoe law firms like Perkins Coey(sp)on behalf of CL.But I found a cool canoe at a good price in BC, light enough for an old fart to get on his Bronco unaided, and I'm giving it a try. That Uship.com seems very easy to use; I'll be interested to see if I get any bids.

thanks, whoever it was that named Uship--if you see this I would appreciate the name of your effective search engine.
