My first thought is "Mule", a Muscovy Mallard hybrid. Sort of looks Wood Duckish but I think that is just a coincidence. The white band around the neck and eye patch are both somewhat common on Muscovy Park Duck type of crosses.
It is a wickedly cool looking bird. Bet it would be a good weight gaining meat bird.

I was wondering what I would have said if Habi came back to me with that duck in her mouth? That is quite a "creation".

Yep, that is my thought as well, mallard x Muscovy.

You know what they say about drake mallards, they'll mate with any hen that come around......

I agree with the others - Mallard x Muscovy. Those big iridescent feathers near the tail are a great clue.
