Gifts from the trapline...

Nope, no dead critter tailgate shots here. My wife finally received her new sheared beaver coat and absolutely loves it as she is clearly demonstrating. I had this done for her for our 20th wedding anniversary. All of the beaver were caught by me, and the fox trim on the hood was actually the very first red fox I ever caught. That was a surprise for her.

Unfortunately, I've created a monster...now she wants a longer coat with long hair for those really cold days and also a blanket. My fur checks may start getting a bit skimpy over the next couple of years.

Oh man thats is worth a lot of points in your favor! Very cool nice job. And congratulations on the 20th aniversary to you both

What a fantastic idea. The smile says it all. Congratulations. By the way, Steve, have you begun saving pelts for the second coat?

Congrats, Steve. Looks like you really racked up the points on that idea! That's easily a trip or two next season. :)

Congratulations on your 20th anniversary Steve! That's an excellent gift!

Who did you have make the coat? It looks great.

Awesome job there Steve. I don't dare show my wife. I gave up trapping years ago.

Congrats on 20 years.

Thanks everybody...She has been begging me to send some of my catch out and make a coat for years. I figured our 20th would be the perfect time for that. For those of you suddenly receiving traps for Christmas, there are plenty of trappers on here that will provide any assistance you may need.

USA Foxx was the furrier I used for the coat. They did do a beautiful job with making it; however, and I say this very reluctantly - I would NOT recommend them to anybody. There are other furriers out there that can make the same quality of a product that actually care about their clients and return customers . The service at USA Foxx was probably the worst I have ever experienced - bar none. If anybody would like more details than that I'd be happy to share via PM. I don't want to turn this into a "bashing" thread.

So when you guys are sitting out in the marsh and there isn't a duck to be seen anywhere...just think, you could be setting some traps and catching some fur for a nice gift for your wife. What a surprise that would be for her, and it gives you something to do in your down time.

Wow, that is one hell of gift. Look at the smile on her face!
You just got permission to keep trapping for the next 20 years!
