Go Pro cameras

Been wanting one of these for a while, gave in and bought one a couple of days ago. Someone posted a video on youtube titled something like suger GoPro. In the video they strap one of these cameras on their retriever, very cool video. Anyway I was wondering what the focal length was on it so I put a redhead on the wall and paced off 15yds, laid down like I was in the box and sat up and took this pic with it. It looks pretty good. Can't wait to use it in a few weeks on the real thing!

Hello Tom
Don't know anything about the camera, but had to laugh when I saw your avitar. Loved it. I will never forget that hunt.

They are getting very popular among people that I fish with. Everyone uses them for underwater footage while tuna fishing. I've been meaning to pick one up.

This is a short video I put together using one. HERE

I just fell into a pro-staff position with them & have (3) three here @ the house.

The new 1080 HD's take great video but the real trick I'm quickly finding out is figuring out the editing program.

We used the 960's in the duck blind last season & compared with the new 1080 HD, it's night & day.

If you're going to use them around the water, spend the extra 15 bucks for the floatie back cover.

Here's a pretty good Q&A site for them.

I just use iMovie on my macbook pro, very easy to edit and get the hang of.

You can get a mount for the camera that would go on a pole or roll bar, probably would work well on a dodger or canvas frame. We would mount it on a gaff for filming underwater.

I have a few of them and have made an underwater towable housing and a dredge mount for a friend of mine who marlin fishes a ton.

They are very cool cameras and are only limited by where your imagination will put one.

A guy and his son sent one up on a weather balloon...http://vimeo.com/15091562

I had one flying on a kite behind a boat in costa rica in the spring, but lost it after a tangle. It's out there swimming somewhere.

Just got off the phone with Tim Furness of D3 TV.

For PC users, Tim recommended Adobe Premiere Elements 10.

He stated it will do more than what the average person needs & more.
