An elderly lady named Florence lived next to my wife's apartment when we were dating 15 years ago just passed away a month ago. Her husband hunted and she knew that I loved waterfowl hunting. She once gave me an old Mason decoy that her husband hunted over and it is in my decoy collection.
Well, last night, my wife got a small box from another old neighbor with this stuff inside for me. She told me about the box late last night after I came home from teaching waterfowl id Waterfowl#1. My wife said to me in bed last night that there was some small decoys and silly stuff in there and "there is a "cute" duck lamp in the box too that I really like". I went to bed and I forgot about it. Today, I went down stairs getting stuff ready for the youth hunt tomorrow and look what I find inside.
A mint mini pair decorative decoys made by Gary Daisy of Chincoteague VA - probably 1970's vintage? or older?
As for the lamp - it is a mint Ken Harris Wood Duck Decoy Lamp Too Cool! Ken Harris died in 1981.
Thank you Florence and may God bless your soul in heaven! I will treasure these as long as I live and pass them on.
