Hi Rick,

Pick up a copy of Making Decoys the Century Old Way by Grayson Chesser and Curtis Badger. Not specific to Goldeneyes but everything you need to know.

I see that Wildfowl Carving Magazine will have a feature article all about golden eyes. Reference pictures, pattern, etc. The pattern will likely be more detailed and decorative than an actual decoy. But it is easy to omit detail. All the other info should be useful as well.
