Goose Hybrid...

I wouldn't know what it is crossed with but here in Ohio you don't have to count it as part of your bag so it would be a bonus bird!

I would put my money on park goose Canada Hybrid. The Whitefront hybrids usually show some pink on the bill. It looks to me like the park goose side had some Chinese/African domestic goose blood in it. If it had the mentality of those evil barnyard creatures it needed to be shot. Anyone who has handled those breeds of domestic goose knows what I mean.

I also tend to believe the most likely option. While Whitefront Canada do look something like that, shooting large Canadas in the more populated parts of the eastern USA is a good way to see plenty of park geese. Even here in SD it can happen. Last spring I saw a large domestic goose hanging out and flying well with several Canada geese.

I am with timj on this one. I have found that relative size of the bird in question plays a role in determining the answer to you question. Speck crosses are smaller than honkers while domestic crosses are larger.

Wow...definitely an odd bird. Did hear some reports of guys seeing some Specks here on the Mississippi this year but I've never seen one of those either.

Pat I saw that birds twin last week on the hudson river in coxsackie, new york. It was standing on the ice with about 300 canadian geese. Same yellow feet & head was alittle more grey, everything in between the same as a canadian.
