Got this years rig done. Fully flocked. Cast with Hd urethane foam. Solid plastic tails and bills. 10mm glass eyes. Hopefully the weather cooperates and the birds show up. Season opens tomorrow. I'm all packed and ready to go.

good luck Tom,

not too cold tonight but a good breeze and just above freezing in the AM, good luck

post some pictures of the rig set out please

You too Rick. Keeping my fingers crossed. I certainly will post some pics. Make sure you stop and say hello!

Tom, what kind of a rig do you haul those in? I'm thinking a barge. Best of luck to you. They sure look good to me.

18 ft Lund Alaskan. I am in the market for a barge...let me know if you have any leads lol. Thanks for the kind words.

Hank Garvey had an old Army Engineers boat for sale on this site about seven years ago that would fit the bill as your tender. How many birds did you end up with in this year's production run? Airbrush or spray paint gun?

Tom~

Gorgeous rig! Those sleepers have a great tuck. I hope plenty of live Cans find your facsimiles soon.

All the best,

SJS

The heads and bodies are my own. I carved the originals then made molds. The solid plastic bills come from the casting process I use. Very easy to do.

I think around 100. Believe it or not all dry brushing. No airbrushed or sprained.
Based on your timeline sketched-out earlier, that would be a more time efficient approach to flocking and painting that many birds. Still a HUGE undertaking, particularly on an annual basis. Very nice scaup, too!
