Got the Broadbill grassed

Not completely happy with how it came out but it'll do for now. Gotta make some grass doors for the cockpit and work on some decoy storage for the bow.

Chip~

Looks great - and it looks liking it's doing about Mach 1 right in your driveway!

Do you shoot over the bow?

Only thing I would do is hit it with flat brown spray paint. I call it dusting. Just spray it from about 18-24" away and qucikly. All it accomplishes is to take the brightness off the gass as it drys out. Looks good and looks like it held up fine in transport.

My decoy storage is 12 slot bags stacked and strapped to the bow.

Chip, boat looks great. A simple solution for the doors as well as some decoy storage is to use vinyl coated shelving. You can buy it in a variety of widths, 12, 16 and I believe 20 or 24". Its lightweight, easy to attach grass to, durable and cheap. Attach it to the boat with metal rubber insulated 3/8" wire clips using 1/4" bolts with lock nuts and fender washers on the inside. You can even shape them (especially if you have access to a metal brake). I've been using them on the boats I build since 2003. Here's a set on a boat I just finished that went to NJ.

And here's what it looked like once the new owner grassed her up (and hung a big ol' Mud Buddy Sport V on the back)

Let me know if you have any questions.

So how did you end up putting the grass on. Looks good
Ended up using plastic fence to the decks and attaching. The stand up around the cockpit is just the grass following the upward contour of the cockpit...it's sure to get broken down very quickly.

I like that alot. What are you looking at for weight on a 8' section of that stuff?

Never did get the time to put the shelving grass doors on but took it on a scouting trip today, had enough time before lunch to throw out a few decoys, anchored it and laid out on the floor and killed a black at 10 yds. He never saw what was coming.
