Finaly made it south to pick her up. Will need a few
slight mods for the BIG MAN comfort but its a great
start and the mods will be simple. Very happy with
the rig. Was very happy with the quality of the blind
they even welded the seams on the skin of the blind
on the Aluminum..... Im used to seeing rivits and
silicone lol.

Few Pics

Plan on Hydroturfin the Deck as gordy says its a lil
cold on his boy parts lol.

Gordy check out the motor well
the bench seats will be raised if possible
a lil or removed. LONG WAY DOWN comfy
yes but getting up from for me not so
functional.

Next BIG MAN MOD. the doors are out. They swing in
and wouldnt make it possible to install shelves or
heaters on the shooting side. Also will widen the hole
by 6-8" :) will be an easy alteration. drop 50-70# also
loosing the hatches.

Nice welds up the seam of the aluminum skin they
took some time to bend and weld all of it.

Left her sealed up till spring then will work on it. Hate
to take the blind off at this point. Will have to fit
the new ProDrive also. Dont think will have any issues
but ya never know lol. I have Sawzall, Cutting wheels
and a guy that is a good aluminum welder :)

Dave,

That's a really nice rig! Raising the seats shouldn't be much of an issue. As far as the roof cover door you could look at cutting the door down the middle from bow to stern and by adding another piano hinge you could have a bi-fold door that could open out and lay up on the lid where the current piano hinge is welded allowing you to keep things inside the boat and being able to lock it up.

True, or make them flip to the outside. I dont mind
them but would rather have places for camera and
stove and heaters again lol.

I can always have some cordura covers made also

Look forward to getting back on the water for
some divers this fall. You will have to get up here
and go with us again also. you were always good
luck!!!!

The gordy hole, already have an idea for a quick flip
up dog ladder similar to the one on the lund for it.

That is a tank! Nice system...Just make sure you get a large enough motor to not underpower yourself...

Will have a new 35 PD on it, Not looking for speed
at all just get me there and I dont hunt mud just
some shallow and weeds.

Blind was made by a fabricator in Southern Illinois.
Came with the boat its a 2006 never had a gas
engine on it only used with electric on state parks.
Bottom of the hull not even a mark on it.

Blind comes off 6 bolts and only weighs 150# I
will add some alum shelves to the shooting side
for sure as need somewhere to set camera ect.

Looking forward to using it when spring comes
and make a few adjustments to the blind.

Dave-
That is very fancy and looks like a great boat. I bet it will heat right up in the cold with all that enclosure. Share more pics if you can on the hard-side blind.
Best,
Derek

Nice rig Dave. I would make that Gordy Hole flip down and add a could of steps to the inside. This way, when it flips down, your dog has a dog ramp to get back in the boat.

What I was thinking was where the door flips up I would
rig up a eyebolt and rope on it so you can open the door
from inside the blind while standing to let him out.

Ok if you picture on the blind there is a bottom rail
of square tube that is the basse of the blind. Come off
of there with 2 1" tube stubs maybe 4" out from the side
of the boat. You will have to notch the door but then
attach a ramp just like the one from my Lund V to it but
no chains to support just have 2 legs that go against
the hull.

So you get set up you lower the ramp with a rope that is
tied off to the top of the blind then it allows the dog
door to be opened up when he needs to go out.

When you need to quickly run you can pull the ramp up
just like on my old boat and go. No messin with hauling
it in. It would also rest against the blind tied to the tie
off on the blind for trailering much like my old one did on
the trans.

The inside of the boat where the dog hole is the rear
bench seat is right there for him to go in and out.

thats my thought anyways.

Hey Dave
Nice boat
why dont you reverse the hinge on the dog door so it opens and swings into the water. you can add horizontal ribs on the inside for traction.
just a thought
good luck
