Granddaughter's first fishing trip

Hi,

Lizzy went fishing with Grandpa and Grandma yesterday evening. Lizzy is 3.5 and had a blast with the whole affair... She landed two small stocker rainbows. Grandpa held the rod and she reeled. While many are "opposed" to a float and a worm for trout, Lizzy approved the method and informed us that this was the best.

She is a bit of a clown and a tease. It was her idea to "eat" worms and had a great time "squishing" the worms around in her fingers.

When we got back to her folks, she watched me clean the fish and informed her mom that she was going to eat them for breakfast.

Well, grandpa, I can sure see that you have a love affair going on. What great pictures. I happen to like #3 and #5 the best. Beautiful countryside by the way. Keep those pics coming. Now I can see why you two are always driving to Colorado. Fun to be with the grandkids!

Al,

The "secret" fishing spot in those photos.......Blacksmith Fork in Utah.....and yes Lizzy and her brother are why we head to CO about 2 times a month.

As for photo number 5.....that was completely her idea...."Grandpa watch me eat worms!!!"... so grandma took the pic as she was clowning....

Cute pictures...tell Lizzy "worms are better if you brush off the dirt first, and DON'T chew, just swallow" :-)

Great stuff though, nice to kids fishing.

Heck Troy.....I thought the grit was what put the "crunch" in the worms.....But I will pass along those detailed instructions......no dirt and no chewing...

Looks like a great time - good job. Be careful with her around that crazy looking guy in the pics, he looked pretty sketchy - you never can be too careful.

Hey Tod.....

I shower once a month even if I do not need it.....brush my teeth once a week.... change my socks now and then....so I do not know who that sketchy guy is, maybe he is crazy instead..

Note the attached photo for verification of the crazy....

Yep, its good to have it confirmed! Keep it up.

That is only when I have my 6 weight and using a nymph on Henry's Fork below Island Park Res in Box Canyon......then the floaty thingy becomes a strike thingy.....while I have used cork strike indicators I prefer making my own out of poly yarn and small O rings,, I will have to see if Lizzy prefers the strike term or the float term...

Dang ya ratted me out...........

Now Lizzy is a funny kid....the brighter the color and the more colors in an article of clothing is her style.....I think she might drive her mom nuts when she is a teen
