We're movin on up.....this is exciting news

Hello Friends and Forum Members
The ODCCAfs Annual Show and Sale, which has been traditionally held in Westlake, Ohio, the 3rd weekend in March, is moving to Strongsville, Ohio, and will be the 2nd weekend in March. (March 9 & 10, 2013.)
This move gives opportunities that were not previously available to us in Westlake. Once you park your car in one of the 1000+ Hotel parking spaces, you will not have to move your car for the entire weekend. The Strongsville Holiday Inn will be a one stop shop for any decoy enthusiast.
The Strongsville Holiday Inn has a much larger ballroom that will be able to house the entire show in one large area as opposed to being spread out among three floors. Imagine taking on the whole show experience after walking through one set of doors. The kidsf contests, painting seminars, vintage decoy displays, and dealers/suppliers selling their wares all the while decoy contests are under way, and all within view of each other. There are nearly 50 first-floor guest rooms that are ideal for room-to-room trading. Located directly across from the ballroom area , these rooms allow better guest visibility and more foot traffic. Vendor packets and more information for ballroom and room-to-room sales will be sent out shortly.
Not only does the Hotelfs on-site restaurant The Simmering Pot provide quality service and a special menu for the show, room service will be available. A beverage and concession area will be set up during show hours in the ballroom. If these choices do not meet your needs, one of the Innfs four free shuttle busses will allow you to take in one of the many local restaurants, as well as Northeastern Ohiofs largest shopping mall, or other tourist attractions. These shuttle busses also make coming from, and going to Cleveland Hopkins Airport a breeze!
The Hotelfs restaurant overlooks Sundayfs pool contest through large glass windows. The pool contest will be upgraded with much more room for spectator seating and a large L-shaped pool. All of the other typical ODCCA Show and Sale events are being planned as usual. The 2013 ODCCA Show and Sale brochure will be available soon.
There are over 300 deluxe guest rooms which have all been upgraded to Holiday Innfs highest standards where all rooms also have access to high speed wireless internet. We have negotiated a special room rate of $87 per night. You will not be receiving a room reservation envelope as you have in the past. Help support the ODCCA by making your room reservations today! Here are two ways you can reserve your room:
œ Call the Holiday Inn reservation desk at 1-877-408-4913 and reference our group code gODCh to get the special room rate and give the club credit for your reservation.
œ Go to our website (odcca.net) and click on the room reservation link.
The Strongsville Holiday Inn is located in a convenient location, just 2 miles south of the Ohio Turnpike, exit 161 at I-71. The Holiday Inn is allowing us the opportunity to place a large sign in the front lot well in advance of the show which affords the visibility to the heavy traffic flow on the east-west route (Route 82). We anticipate with this increased visibility and new location we will attract many new (local) visitors to our annual show and sale.
If you want to get more involved, the next ODCCA's meeting will be Sunday, July 22, 2012 at 10:00 AM at the Holiday Inn Strongsville, 15471 Royalton Road, Strongsville, 44136. This meeting is open to anyone who would like to help.

Cool.
Glad to see things moving in the right direction. We'll be there, count on us for a room and vendor spaces...and, more than likely, a bit of fun.

Thanks for the update Willy, glad to hear the location is set and the show will go on without compromise. Only down side is the old show location was three miles from my house....

Thank you for the update!

I was honestly very disturbed about the split. I have been going on and off to that show since 1985 and it is definitely a great tradition. I have met and made a lot of friends because of Westlake! I have also picked up many decoys, books, art, and antiques.

The new venue looks great, and hopefully, there will be the support from the carving and contemporary decoy community.

From the description, everything will be in the ballroom. Anything in rooms? Will any antique dealers make it to this show, or is everyone drawing a line in the sandbox?

I definitely plan on making it for 2013 for the "big change". If I can get my redneck boys to make some dust over the next 9 months, we'll try to get a booth.

BTW, are we set for September in Paducah? Lots of interest.

Thanks,
Steve

Hey Steve...We need to get together on the phone. Yes on the Sept. class. I also have some folks interested in coming to Paducah. Give me a shout and I can fill you in on the class and the show.
