Got invited up to check out the Livingston Ripley Waterfowl Conservancy in Litchfield, CT a while back and finally got a chance to go last week.

This place is AWESOME! It was way more then I ever expected it to be. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, and some of them even duck hunt! Their collection is pretty amazing.

Anyone who is into birds and waterfowl should take a day and visit, it's so worth trip!

Here's a link to their site.

Knowledgable staff, LOL! The Director holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in waterfowl biology. The two research scientists are among the top waterfowl guys in the western hemisphere. One of them literally wrote the book on modern waterfowl management that is used as the text in most universities.

Funny I'd never heard of that place before and on the second to last day of duck season I shot a mallard drake that was banded there. Very cool.

Hence why I said knowledgable. Hahaha!

Ian gave us the full tour, he seems like a real nice guy.
