Great white north!!!

Closed on our property last Friday... spent my first night there... made my first smoke... and had my first breakfast.... :D

The mosquitoes and ticks were rediculous!!!!!!

Sweet!

For the mo-skeets, you might consider a Thermacell. Picked one up at Cabela's (~$25) while camping last year and it made the remainder of the trip much more enjoyable. We now use it at home on the deck most nights.

While looking at them at Cabela's, I was thinking about if they would really work or not and a guy walked up to me to tell me how great they were. At first I thought he worked there but then went on to talk about how he was a bear hunter and got one as a gift. For the hell of it he packed it with him on a Canada hunt and was thrilled with the results. After that review I was sold and have been very happy with it.

Great looking getaway there and enjoy!

Great looking place. I'm sure we'll be seeing some great stories and pictures coming from there from you. Congrats and enjoy.

ENjoy Phil, and get some Permethrin for your camp clothes and boots. Spray the entire set outside and hang to dry. Works for a month or more.

Someone else recommended permathin as well.... too bad I can't use it on Kodi!..... Amazingly... I got zero ticks on me when I wore my knee high rubber boots.

Yes, those are hand peeled logs...

Boz, I hope I have many great stories to share

Awesome place Phil...that's exactly how I envision my trappers shack if I ever had the time and money to buy some property. Were the logs from the cabin harvested right from that property? If not, they sure look like they may have been. Congrats on a great place!!

Phil,
If I read the label correctly, it is used on cattle, sheep, horses, why can't it be used on dogs? I haven't looked, so that is why I am asking. I use frontline on my dog and haven't researched if the permitrin would be OK for her or not.
I buy my permitrin at the local farm supply business. Just treated some clothes for a trip to northern MN.

Dave, I guess I assumed that since you're supposed to do why do clothing and then hang that him and drug contact with your skin and likewise I can't believe they be much better for a dog. But that's just what I assumed

Phil,
Here is some info from the Oregon State University on permetrin. I read in a couple other sources where Permetrin is the main ingredient in flea collars for dogs.
I'll probably just continue to use the Frontline product as it seems to be doing a good job of keeping Ginger free of ticks.
