Guides in Eastern Ontario and Quebec

Jack, the biggest outfitter in eastern Ontario is St. Lawrence Outfitters, they have a website with all the details. They primarily focus on geese, but offer some great late season duck shooting along the St. Lawrence river. You'll also find some guides/outfitters on Wolfe Island, again, great late season duck hunting. If that doesn't work for you, PM me and I'll get you out myself.

Jack,

I hunted with St. Lawrence Outfitters about 4 or 5 seasons ago. Had a very successfull hunt, all the geese you want, but if you want to shoot ducks, you will have to go late. From my experience, it was mostly mallards, but I believe they offer some diver hunts depending on the time of year. The accomodations were pretty good as well. It was based out of a hotel, but the food was good. Any specific questions, feel free to pm or email me

For what its worth Jack, I've heard good things about both outfits. (Wolf I. and St. Lawrence Outfitters)
I've always wanted to hunt Wolf Island.
Good luck.

I've hunted with David Roy several times(St. Lawrence). I am primarily a duck hunter so I have gone in December. The goose hunting is very good and his guides are great callers. He's been shooting some snows the last few years also. It is primarily mallards(nothing wrong with that) as far as ducks, I also did a diver hunt once when they were around. I have always had good guides there, including David. Like anywhere, some luck is involved in timing, but I always had a good time.

Capt. Jack,

I've been hunting and filming for Fowl Pursuit/RNT for 10 years and we've almost always taken a trip every year to hunt with David Roy of Saint Lawrence Outfitters. Everything is accurate in what people have said. If you want geese your going to have a blast with David or any of his guides, all of them are very proficient hunters and will work their hardest to make sure you enjoy yourself. They also enjoy some excellent golden eye and mallard hunts later in the season if you can season the weather. David knows the water and has the boat and equipment to properly hunt the St. Lawrence seaway. If you want to do a sink box hunt they can also arrange it and you'll have a blast. One recommendation I have is to book early if you want a specific time during the season because David books up early from repeat hunters. If you just want to shoot geese I'd recommend early November, if you want to do some combo hunts shoot for last week of November first week of December. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Thanks Guys I've spoken with Divid of St. Lawerece Outfitters, a pleasure to talk too. I cant find anyting about Wolf Island. The guides I've located in Quebec aren't very cooperative with returning calls.. I'd like a shot at Snows, they just don't come to Long Island. Even though we kill a ton of Canadas right here I'd like to go somewher else and let some one else do the calling for me.. I'm going someware for a week, I just have to figure out where.

I understand this was not the exact providences you requested but:

I know it might be a long drive for you but I suggest Kris Wujyk owner/guide at Manitoba Snows. I believe the website is Manitobasnows.com. He has access to around 30,000 acres of land to hunt around Neepawa, MA, AKA Minnedosa Pot Hole Region. Morning drives are literally less than 20 minutes, sometimes only about 3 minutes if field usage of the birds is close to the house.

Been going several years now and have to tell you your worst 4 days in that area under his guidance will exceed the amount of birds you will harvest under a normal man's hunting conditions in the field of 16-20 days a season in the states. Four hunters last year took 176 birds in 3.5 days of hunting. Plus you stay in a local house with 3 meals a day. As any hunt the traditional days during the hunt is we have one exceptional day shooting our limits of dark/light geese and ducks within a 1 hour span in the morning. A semi-good day of shooting a limit of darks with peppering of light geese. Full filling the duck limit in the afternoon. And one day typically where we go to all the way to noon shooting just short of our daily limits on darks. And the last day being an average 3 hour hunt. Still nothing but pure enjoyment in the hunt and with friends.

The last three years have been seasonably warm but have not made any difference...Ok I admit, it is slower...But taking three instead of 1 hour to take your limit doesn't hender my beliefs of it causing a "0" on your harvest list.

I honestly believe if this area was opened to the same conditions you have in South America (argentina, Peru, etc...) in regards to hunting around peak migrations, you would not have to hunt more than one day. Cleaning that many birds would just absolutely suck. One day to shoot, 2.5 days to clean.

Have had as many 5K cacklers locking in the spread with anxiety that just wants to make you scream as the birds are not only on the ground but continuously landing. There is a 10 minute video on youtube from another guide we have hunted with in the past. If you search for it look under Feathered Horizons Goose Hunt Manitoba...There might be several videos of this but the one you need to find is 10 minutes long. The first 5 minutes of that video is of a group of us. Now if you watch this I must say you will experience a day or two like this if the cacklers are moving through the area. One of the primary reasons I make the trip every year.

If you wanna snow goose hunt with him...Go in April when they are returning.

Regards,
Kristan

Wow Kristen You paint a very rosie picture. Manitoba is 2000 miles from me, thats ahike but not out of the realm of possibilites for next year. thanks

Last year we hunted with Roger Gladu on the St. Lawrence and had a great experience. He is well known up there in Quebec as we learned when we went thru customs and they ask you who you are hunting with they all either knew or hunted with Roger.Would highly recommend this outfit. We hunted ducks on the marsh and sinkbox hunts on the river. They have a website unfortunately all in french but when we where up there they said they are working on an english version.

Calling and getting an english speaking person can be a bit frustrating but it was well worth it.Although we werent interested in hunting snows we saw thousands trading across the river and he can setup a hunt for you.The real gem of the trip was the fantastic puddle duck shooting...He owns his own freshwater marsh with a ducks unlimited refuge in the center.no one hunts there except him and he has blinds located all around the edge. They have the same ducks we have here at home but the blackduck limit is 4 per man!..We limited out every hunt on blacks, mallards, pintails and teal...awesome!And its one of the only places left you can hunt divers from a sinkbox. They put you up in little cottages right on the river which were squeaky clean and walk down to the boats in the morning. We saw some really nice bucks taken by some locals (they use boats to access the islands) if you time it right you might be able to do some deer hunting too.I would go back for sure.
I took my son and went with my brotherin law and his buddy it was a fun road trip.Let me know if you would like any more info,,
