My secretary at the High School sent me this today.

Since I graduated from high school in '67 and will probably retire after a 35 year career in high schools this year, I found it rang true. Still a few kids who like to drop by and talk hunting & dogs (thank goodness):

shotgun to show Jack.

1967
- Crowd gathers. Mark wins. Johnny and Mark shake hands and end up best friends. Nobody goes to jail; nobody is arrested; nobody is expelled.
2007

1967

ACLU files class action lawsuit against state school system and Pedro's English teacher. English banned from core curriculum. Pedro is given a diploma anyway but ends up mowing lawns for a living because he cannot speak English.

Bob, if it was not so ridiculous and TRUE, it would be funny. A good friend of mine and I were talking the other day and being about the same age (old), we both agreed that there was no way we would want to be born today.

I never cared for them much back then, but I truely thank God there were wood paddles and common sence back when I went to school. Somewhere along the line we seem to have lost both of them.

The stupid crap we have to put up with today makes me wonder just what the youngsters will have to put up with by the time they are my age. It is even harder for me to comprehend since I have always felt that I was born 200 years too late anyway.

Thanks for posting that Bob, it is good to see todays thought process compared to the common sence of people not so long ago. I just hope the Mayan calendar is off by about 30 years, I have too many plans to finish before 2012 :^)

Dave

Dave's right.I'm sure glad I grew up when I did.I could place myself in almost all thoes situations. How did we get to this?

My parents would have spent 3 life sentences in prison for all the paddlings I got when i was a kid if it was now. Dad would have been in prison for getting mom pregnant at 17 instead of marrying her. It sure is a screwed up world these days. Makes you wonder what our grandchildren are going to go through.
