Half day hunts??

Ed, we all have to work to old age so cranky old unemployable cowboy miscreants can enjoy life. It's in the rules somewhere.
 
yeah, you slack water guys get off easy! Tides sure do add a whole new twist to things. At least here on the Gulf coast we have small tides (3' is a BIG tide) and only 1 high/1 low per day. I cant imagine dealing with the 6-9' tides that guys on the east & west coasts have to work with. Plus we don't have rocks to mess our motors up, nothing harder than oyster shells (which are hell on an aluminum prop).

It sure is hell when you get stuck on a mud/grass flat with your boat pulled up on the grass with you and the tide goes out and it's a 6-7 foot drop to the water. That mud sure isn't something to mess around with...at least the mud that sits below the waterline for much of the day. When I hunt the salt here at home...if I come home only half covered in mud then it was a good day. One good thing about the mud though...it keeps the blood sucking vultures off of me

I looked in the rules and still can't find it. Must be in the "fine print"!!!
 
... work the a.m. and hunt the p.m. for me... I could relax more on the hunt knowing that I put some work behind me...
 
Craig, Dave called me at work from Dillon Montana to tell me the town hadn't changed and that his trigger finger was tired from all the hunting he and Judy did...then went on to tell me about all the game they saw....talk about rubbing it in.
 
I had to call you at work, when I try in the evenings....your wife always tells me you are busy doing dishes, mopping the floor or outside beating on a rug.

And yes......when you have to put a bandaid on your blistered trigger finger, it must be near the end of the Montana hunt. It's almost healed now, so I can get back to hunting again.

You be nice to those Kalamazoo "Long Beards" those are some of mine that went back for a Fall family reunion & Holloween party.

Social Secuity used to be set-up for old people when they retire at 62 or 65. But, the system has been changed since us old farts are living longer. Now all you shave tails can't get any money until you are in your 70's and 80's.

So, I would like to take this opportunity along with Joe O. to thanks all of you for helping to keep our monthly SS checks rolling in on a regular basis. We need every cent of that money for those Montana trips and trigger finger bandaids:^)

Your trigger pulls are way to high,or your hands are too soft from doing the dishes.Buy a dishwsher,or hire one.You could load rocks all day,no gloves.That should toughen 'em up.:^)

I retired the first time at 41,but couldn't live on that ,so went back for another 20 and retired at 63.Can't think of any other kind of work (whats that) I would want to do.
Birds,Britts,Boats,and guns,takes up all my time.Best time to hunt,is when you feel like it.LOL

You guys are killin' us "slightly" younger folk!!

PLEASE save us just a little of that Soc. Sec. money.... and game (ducks, deer, pheasant, grouse...) for when us "slightly" younger fellas reach that golden time (If the job doesn't get me first!)
 
Joe and Dave are right if I had known retirement was like this I would have retired 30 years ago.
