Last Labor Day we had a little issue with the Suzy 225 on the tender/fishing boat my brothers and I own. Turns out the Suzy had a little self-ignition feature, scared the crap out of us, but luckily no one was hurt. Fortunately for us, our boat insurance policy covered the claim and presented us with a check to start paying for the replacement engine. We've been searching high and low for an engine that a) we could afford and b) was new enough that we wouldn't go broke with maintenance. We found a 2007 Yamaha 250 4 stroke with 30 (count them) 30 hours on it, and 2 years left on the warranty. The gentleman had bought a new boat with this engine, felt it was underpowered and went back and bought a 350. After 3 months of negotiating with brothers, wives and dealers, today was the special day!

I drove down this morning and brought her home. She weighs in around 800 pounds and is sure going to look good back here.

We'll be back in business for striper season and ready to go for sea ducks next fall. We're really looking forward to this boating season.
 
Happiness is a new engine! Hope you have a good hoist to pick that sucker up with.
 
I kinda figured you'd go that route. changing out a 25hp tiller steer is one thing, changing a 250hp is a whole different thing to tackle!
 
Bill - nice job - that looks like the sea duck ticket..........let me know if you want to run any buddy trips up on Jeffries for ground fish.

In reality, I've only been out to Jefferies on a party boat, I'd love to have you show me the ropes.
