Hard to believe---

Here it is in the middle of February and just as I was about ready to go home after cutting firewood I saw this beautiful butterfly. This could be our warmest February ever or close to it. The temperature yesterday afternoon reached 75F! That is not good. The whole month seems to have been consistently 10F to 15F above average.

We seem to be on the total reverse side of what some of you who live in the midwest and east coast are experiencing.

Beautiful picture. I am spending my second Winter in Az. Sounds like it is starting to get really cold back in Wadena, Mn. Don't miss it a bit. Jim

Thanks, Mike. Funny how I never gave that a thought but it sure did remind me of years past especially when living in Alaska in the 60s. It did take a while to see plain old "ground".

Dave, I can't begin to tell you how much we love it down here. If it gets warm here and that is when it climbs up over 100F, we just jump in the truck with the Mule on the trailer, grab a couple of dogs to take with and head for the mountains which are only 15 miles away. It make having a picnic where it is 78F much more fun and relaxing. Since you can see so far away when you are at 10,000 feet of elevation, that also adds to the pleasure of the moment! I can only hope that you will be experiencing warmer temps soon!

We are now having a cold front moving in and during the beginning of the week it will drop all the way down to 52F. When it has been 75F that is much cooler.

Have fun, Jim. Enjoy the moment. Of course if you begin to get lonesome you can always think about mosquitoes!
