Has anyone tried....

...appling the spray in bed liner material to the bottom of their duck boat?

If so, how much weight did it add and are you happy with the outcome?

I have not tried it but plan on spraying the bottom of my TDB with paintable rubberized undercoating at the water line. The undercoating is much lighter than the bedliner material and is certainly not quite as durable. I got the kit that uses a siphon gun so it does not have all the VOC's of the aerosol cans. If/when I get to it I'll be sure to report back on how it works. The concrete, rocks, gravel and clam shells are starting to take a toll on the gell coat. I kinda see this coating as a consumable item, not a "cure".

I haven't done it, others have.

I used the roll on duplicolor bed liner stuff on a boat floor once and wasn't especially impressed with the durability. Line-x and the others are probably much much more durable. I'd be concerned about weight though.

I am almost certain it will add some durability to the boat, how much I'm not sure of. Hopefully it will come out here for those that have tried it.

I am concerned about the weight that will be added.

Right now I can carry the boat over my shoulders for about 50 yards. As I get older this will not be as easy of a task and even hard with the bed liner material applied.

Keep the suggestions coming. All are appreciated.

There was a long thread about this on the Refuge. It evolved into a discussion about using it instead of fiberglass on homemade foamers.
Sorry I don't have the link for you.
