Hatteras Red Drum

That's a nice one. My brother lived in the Buxton, Frisco area for 6 years. I used to visit him a lot. That picture brings back some good memories of standing on Cape Point in the middle of the night waiting for my bait to get picked up. Thanks for posting it. Luke

Nice drum...I talked to the owner of Tradewinds tackle last year down on Ocracoke and he said this is the time to come for big drum in the surf. I guess he wasn't just yanking my chain.

Man, thats a pig!
Fish are biting like crazy here right now, but its hard to fish when duck season is in!

Man, That is a hoss!!! Spent Thanksgiving at our place on Bald Head and caught nothin' but croaker and blues. Believe me, I was trying for either a red drum or black drum... I tried everything except live finger mullett.... I forgot my net....AAAAARRRGGGHHH!! No real bait shops on the island... Last day I'm getting my gear up off of the beach and headin' to the golf cart when a guy stops me and tells me about the 35 lb. pig he caught the night before...and guess what he was fishin' with. I won't forget my net next time...... Good to see they are still runnin'....

Catching him out on the point? Use to fish out there all the time. I lived there over 10 years and I my mother still lives in Frisco so I get down a couple times a year. Why didnt you hit up Ken Dempsey out of hatteras for some hunting in the sound for pins and brant?
Congrats on the drum .... quite a hoss.

Nice fish man. They are some fun fish to catch. Never done much from the surf but we have nights at the mouth of the creek where we have caught 15 and all over 45 inches. To bad you cant keep the big boys anymore. I miss my big ole drum ribs.
