Its getting on in the building process and there is lots of time to think. I havent figured out how to cure world hunger yet but I found a catchy title for the post and its true its a naked as she gets soon she will be wearing new clothing thanks to Lou.

Charlie and James first picture if for you. Go to walmart and find the cake decorating stuff and get one of these tips. I stole my wifes and yes she is mad but I had my deck fileted in under two hours it may have been close to one hour. Play around you need to get the penut butter dry and then squirt it into place. Keep squirting because it kicks really fast in the bag for some reason. Work in 3 pump batches you will need to do some cleaning in between batches to the tip but its so worth it. After you empy the bag use a large stir stick to do the filet. I modified an idea of Erics on this and it works great. I used a stick for the filets on the keeps to but didnt think of the bag till I read his post.

It took 3 maybe 4 bags to do the entire deck because there is little waste.

Here she is as naked as she will ever be. Its so cool to see the wood every time you get done sanding and put on another coat. The bottom is Dynal so it doesnt wet out clear. Plus its sanded.

There she sits tonight. Tomorrow I have to scratch her all up again in prep for paint.

Wow, really looking great Brandon. Impressive.
It'll look nice to see the new clothes on her but I so do love to see 'em neked. ;)

Thats a pretty girl you have there! Nice job on the combing too. Very professional and out of the mold smooth. Just wait to see the differance it makes with the paint on. Kills me to cover up that wood though. That just makes more of a case for building something a little more showy next time!

Thanks for the tip on the filliting. I have heard about doing that before on this site and really like the idea. I'll be flipping mine over in just a little while. I'm putting on another coat of paint and then attatching the aluminum stock on the keels.

where did you get the aluminimum stock for the keels??

im replaceing my keel and thinking brass if i can find it but aluminimum sounds like another way to go//

Shermie - I got the aluminum stock from Lowes. Standard 3/4" by 8' lengths. I plan on tapering down the leading and trailing edge and leaving the edge down the length of it sharp. The stock was less than $10 a piece i believe.
