Here's an idea that might catch on. NDR

Got this in an email today:

I work, they pay me. I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit.
In order to earn that pay cheque, as I work on a rig site at a Fort MacMurray, Alta., construction project, I am required to pass a random urine test, with which I have no problem.
What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test.
Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare cheque because I have to pass one to earn it for them???
Please understand, I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet.
I do on the other hand have a problem with helping someone sit on their arse drinking beer & smoking dope.
Could you imagine how much money the provinces would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance cheque?!!

Interesting eh...

Now there's an idea, and while we're at it lets make it a little harder to claim bankruptcy. Funny thing that folks that have came through bankruptcy seem to come out smelling like roses and have more free cash than those of us who always pay our bills. I think it should be changed so that you still owe the money you just can take longer to pay it off. As it stands now less than a year and your in the clear. In Canada at least.

I think they tried that in the US..at least with public housing..the ACLU went ballistic about what an invasion of privacy it was..they never said anything about people having to have one to work.

It is an insult for honest hard working people to summit to a drug test and have people collect free money without taking one.Period!
When I worked for the goverment as an Air traffic controller we had random testing where a independent agency would storm in and test us.They had to actually watch you pee in the bottle. Then they wanted your SS#(which always (pi@@ me off).I just tell them ,If you find another Joseph M Orfetel, working for the FAA,I'll send him an airline ticket and fly him in to have lunch. They drop it then.Bottom line, only 1/10 of 1% have ever been found to have a trace of drugs. What a Country,of course the Socialist Republic of Canada is a whole nuther story.I'm Married to one.l0l:^)

Unfortunately I've been down the Bankruptcy road once, got laid off from TWA following 9-11 and cheatin wife left me(good thing as it turns out) all at the same time. Made a go at it as long as I could but most credit card co's don't care to work with you at all and can leave you with no choice. As far as the urine test to pu your unemployment and welfare checks, Sounds like a great Idea.

Here is the US, they changed the bankruptcy laws last year or the year before, cann't remember. Supposedly it's hard to file and your debts are not erased as easily. That being said, so far this year I have had two people file on me.

With the first, we met at the hearing and he agreed to reaffirm his debt with my bank. As I walked out, I saw him driving away in a new truck, all fitted out with chrome and lift kits. Really ticked me off, now he is back late with his payments and in about the same position as before.

The second guy, lost his house, his business, walked away from most of my debt, but mom and dad contribed enough money he got to keep his prized Ranger bass boat. Never mind the fact that he paid for the boat by not paying his other debt. Did he learn anything? Is society better off?

Yukon Mike,
Please Stop! You are making too much sense. :) Very Good idea...write you Congressman...really.

Great idea! Think Hillary will go for that?

Seriously folks, none of this common sense stuff can happen in a democracy of course, as long as the only requirement for vote is a certain minimum age. Politicians promise away a bigger portion of your hard earned paycheck every year to those that do not produce, in order for them to get elected. Essentially, they are buying votes. A larger percentage of these non producers than you would imagine will test positive for cannabis at least on any urine drug screen, will therefor not get their checks and therefor not vote for said politicians. Might as well just say you've got to have a negative drug screen to vote. Of course none of this will happen, until they've dragged us all down to the bottom, which they are doing as quickly as possible.
