Hevi-Shot for reloading

I just started loading my own steel this winter and I chose Precision Reloading zinc plated #2 Steel and did well with it. I am using a recipe from Alliant's website. Fed209A, 35gr. Alliant Steel, P.R. Wad, 1/4 felt, 1 1/8oz. P.R. zinc plated #2 steel, in a 3" Remington high brass hull with plastic base wad. I measured all of my powder and shot by hand and had no issues all season. Not too many cripples either. I figured it was about the same or a little cheaper than I could buy factory loaded shells that would be a similar load, BUT, I could say that a load that I made killed that bird!!! It's something to do anyway.

i mostly reload steel but have loaded tungsten briefly. anything close range the steel will work fine but reaching out and touching them is where the tungsten shines. i found out that through a modified choke the tungsten will come out as if through a full so i changed to an improved cylinder or skeet to shoot it. i think bismuth recently came back out on the market as well but its super pricey. the tungsten right now through BP is like 60 something for 5lbs.
