Hillman Family Benefit Auction #16 - John Livoti Long Island Guided Hunt

From John:
We can offer a full day guided hunt on the salt marshes of Long Islands south shore for one person (6AM - sunset). They will meet me at the dock and I will provide transportation to the hunting grounds via one of my boats. Just for the record, I am a licensed guide and USCG captain. My company's name is Seatracks Inc., dba "Seatracks Outdoor Adventures"

If the winning bidder wants to take additional gunners I can accommodate up to six (total) people but I would need to cover my additional expenses to run my tender and pay a crewmate to help out for the day. I was thinking we could charge an additional $150 / PP and 50% of the additional proceeds would go back to the Hillman family. Details can be worked out later.

The most abundant species is Atlantic Brant and Canada geese. We have the largest wintering population of Brant on the east cost here on LI. We also have healthy numbers of Blacks, Mallards, Buffys and a variety of Mergs. Towards the end of the season we get plenty of Broadbill in addition to the other species. If someone wants to target Brant, I can guarantee they will see more Brant then they ever expected. Very few time do we ever fail to get our limit of Brant.

I will also provide my trusty retriever and if they want to bring there on dog that is fine. I usually hunt from our sneak boats but I also use permenant and temporary blinds depending on the comfort and skill level of each gunner. I will work with the winning bidder to put together a hunt that they will enjoy.

What a fantastic auction item. What dates are close to prime time...if one can even guess. I am from Minnesota and would lovee to check into something like this. Doaes your company ever get into sea ducks? Take care, Eric

Well somebody has to start the bidding here - $75 to get things rollin'...

This is pretty cool guided hunt, not many guides out there that put you in a sneak boat. Looks like fun to me, I'd like to check out a different area than Chesapeake Bay anyway.

Steve

Eric,

Let me know what you are interested in targeting and I'll let you know what part of the season would be best.

For bidding sakes, we'll call your bid $150, and John has agreed to $150 per person for additional hunters added to the winners party. Thank you for your bid, I just want to minimize confusion.
