Hit myself with a mallard.

Ha ha.... actually ... me too! But... I also had a Redhead duck do it to me in North Dakota too... I got wet.

Glad you're OK! I've had to dodge a few over the years too, including a goldeneye that hit the ground at my feet at about 60mph-that made quite a thump! If you think about it, a 3 pound duck travelling at 40mph packs quite a bit of energy-best to get out of the way!

Had a scaup land in an mlbII cockpit from 40 yards up.
I heard the WHUMP from the tender 200 yards away and thought someone shot out the bottom of the boat until I heard the laughter.
Luckily the kids were able to dodge the attack.

Was hunting at St-Anne-de-Beaupre just outside of Quebec City in a high-tide pit blind and had a snowgoose land right between my partner and I. I'm sure it would have landed on both our heads if we didn't duck out of the way.

I'm sure I've told this story before. Once had a group of Canvasbacks in a line coming towards us when we were hunting a island point blind. My dad thinking he missed was putting his gun down when I noticed the last one fold his wings. I had just enough time to yell "DUCK"! My dad ducked just in time for it to go past his head and hit the back wall of the duck blind. He said he was leading on the first in line. Over the open water it's deceptive the speed they are traveling.
