I tried to send you a pm a couple of days ago but probably screwed something up. The info you told me about was great. I figured what the IS and USM stood for but couldn't find out what the S stood for. My other question was what do you think of buying any of these used and what would you consider being a good price? Do you know of any good web sites that mite help me out with my decisions on buying and using my future hobby?
I tore my rotator cuff in my right shoulder at work recently and the MRI showed it was not repairable and I'm looking at a replacement shoulder down the road, the farther down down the road the better. So it looks like the only thing I'll be shooting this season will be a camera. Do you know any body who switched from shooting right handed to left?

You must be talking about EF-S. EF-S lenses are made for the Rebel camera bodys and the 20D AND 30D camera bodys. The L lenses will fit on any of the Canon bodys. Used lenses from private sellers; you'll be taking your chances. The refurbed lenses are a safer idea and other than some wear, are restored to specs.

I've found that shooting the camera can be just as rewarding, if not more, and the photos last for as long as the memories.

I believe Steve Sutton may have switched from right to left for a spell.

Phil,I had rotator cuff surgery 7 years ago after being run over on a motorcycle.I didn't shoot for a couple months ,
but I didn't switch shoulders because of eye dominance. If after healing, you can't shoot from the right side, you have a few options,
If you are able to close your right eye,no problem, soon you will be back to keeping both eyes open again. If you can't,then put tape on the
right lense of your glasses. You don't want the right eye taking over, assuming it is your dominate eye.
The most drastic method is having a stock bent that shoulders on the left but alignes the barrel with the right eye.
If it is going to be tempory, because of healing/therapy and pain, then shoot a .410 or auto 20ga at clays until you can handle the recoil. My shoulder is still stiff,
but it doesn't affect my shooting shotguns.
