Gordie,
I'm curious how you anchored the Hoefgen in 2 foot waves.
The one time I tried it in deeper water in 2 footers it got dicey. In waves it was difficult to reach the handle on the bow, so I wonder how you fastened the anchor line. With the anchor line through the bow handle, I was taking waves over the rollback cockpit.
Normally it could handle 2 footers, but the tension on the bow was holding it low in the water. Having a knife handy to cut the anchor line saved me from swamping.
I might entertain the "layout" hunt again if I could feel safer.
As I said in an earlier post, the Hoefgen his is a great multi-use duck skiff!
