Does anyone know if they are in business or a contact number. I made a purchase last week and have heard nothing from them. The purchase went through. I have emailed them numerous times and no response.
Thanks,
Tom

If the item you purchased is in stock it will be shipped......eventually.

They're in business but they have some of the worst business practices/customer service you will find.

I have sent emails to see if they are still selling bodies. I wanted to try my hand at making new decoys. Since I have not heard from them I figured they are no longer in business?

looking for ss eye screws- thanks
I doubt Lou would have eye screws. Decoy Rigs used to sell a ton of Herters heads and accessories. You might give them a call. I have their catalog from 2008. It shows multiple sizes in galvanized. Good luck.

I think Steve Sanford was in with him, maybe he has some info.

All~
I carved a few masters for Homer Decoys when they were owned by Tony Homer. Tony sold the business to Scott Hash - whom I met once years ago at Tuckerton. So - nothing current from me.
And, I have searched many, many times trying to find long s/s lag screws (3/16" diameter or so). That was after I gave up completely looking for the same thing in brass.

Still dreaming.... (1952 Herter's catalog - a year before I was born)

If I recall what he was selling were E. Allan decoys. They were great decoys but bills could get broken pretty easy sometimes.
Roy-

Yes - nice birds. I have Blacks, Mallards and Woodlies.... Masters for these were carved by Keith Mueller. They are one of my stock puddler rigs.

And, yes - I just knocked a bill off one of the decoys (in storage!) a week or so ago. Many reinforce the bill with a long galvanized finishing nail or the like. The repair will get one slathered in epoxy.

Also - as these are "beaver pond" birds - I use a flush keel with no ballast and a light anchor.
