Honestly, you couldn't make this stuff up...

Our Member of Parliament took down a woman vandalizing his campaign signs.

I'm a little bit embarrassed and proud at the same time.

So Mike your a prepared outdoorsman, where do you keep your hand cuffs? In the jacket pocket or on your belt. Too funny, IMHO he has every right to lay in wait if some nitwit is out trashing his signs.

She does have that troublemaker look about her. "I'm right and the whole rest of the world is wrong". All I can say is "Atta boy"

Perhaps I am too cynical, but this sounds like a staged PR opportunity to me.

It would be interesting to see who alerted the press to what happened.

Funny story. But having the handcuffs on hand makes it look pretty staged/Planned. I can guarantee that wouldn't happen around here with our politicians.

Sounds like a copy-cat of what happened over here this last spring for our mayoral elections, but gender reversed. And no handcuffs, but at least a handgun.

The rumor mill of Anchorage politics thinks that the entire situation may have been staged by the campaign since the perp supposedly worked on the candidate's prior campaign for an assembly seat.

The lady lost the runoff in May as she started doing and saying really weird stuff, and then stopped talking to the press all together. The Tea Party way of dealing with the press here in Alaska is to take their ball and go home any time they are asked a question outside the context of what's their favorite color.

You mean you guys don't carry handcuffs all the time? : )

Time will tell if it was staged I think. Who knows the mind of a politician during an election? Either way, it was entertainment on a rainy day.
