How are you transporting dekes these days

Sorry to revive such an old thread, but for those of you storing decoys in the collapsable leaf bags, approximately how many "big duck" decoys can you get in a bag? All of my decoys are individually rigged if that matters.

I've got to find a better way to organize decoys when they are in the boat.

Thanks.

they sell these bags at cabelas and bass pro

i think i have around 30 in each of mine

my dekes are rigged on long lines with 2 lines per bag

to keep your singles from not getting tangled i would make some j style decoy weights and add a peice of bungee cord

have these on all my singles and love them

That is a great old thread from the past! Thanks for bumping it up.

How high do these bags stand when "un collapsed"?

As far as rigging decoys, I found the easiest way is to use tangle free cord. Run it through the decoy front or bad and put on a cord lock. Tie a knot so the cord lock does not come off. On the other side of the decoy (opposite of the side the cord lock is on) attach a tangle free weight. Pull hte cord until the weight is right up against the decoy for transport and throw in a bag. When you get to the spot you want to hunt, pull the diecoy out of the bad and release the cord lock. Weight drops down and then just toss the decoy.

Works in all temps and I ahve never had one freeze up. Make sure to get the cord locks with a stainless spring.

No more wrapping deocys or worring about tangled lines.

I got tired of bags and totes, so I just started stacking my long lines in the bow of the boat. I clip the end of one line to the beginning of the next to avoid tangles. I have a bin board running across the bow to keep the decoys in place. Once the decoys are all out I pull the board out of it's slots to give us more room.
