How cold is it getting up north?

Not sure about the weather up north, but I am seeing big ducks and more geese behind my house.

Last few months there have been some resident geese living behind my house on an empty lot, and today they pulled in a big flock (about 50, I guess thats not toooo big) of canadas and I saw ducks dropping in as well! I hope they all don't leave by the time I get up to Canada. :P

Jon,
I sure hope you can keep those big ducks and geese in your area up and into the beginning of your duck season. Good luck this year.

Snow forecasted for the next few nights in 55731 MN/CAN Border.. Opener was 40F and overcast with winds. Cleared up and now again with cloud cover and freezing at night.

Sounds like you are up in that Warroad, MN. Rosseau county area. Must be some great diver hunting on Lake of the Woods if you go there. Thanks for that forecast, Mikey.

27 last night while we were in the UP of Michigan. Woodies were still around. Did not see any teal. A few ringnecks and redheads around as well

Afternoon Al,

We just got back from Sask. the weather in the morning in the mid twenties and low sixties in the afternoon.

Lots of Cranes in the area, 24 managed to ride to New Mexico in the cooler along with 120 Snow Geese, 4 Dark Geese and 35 ducks. Not a bad harvest for two old guys and one 8 month old YLF Bella II.

Several morning we had frost. The weather outlook for the next 10 days calling for lower temp. with some rain/snow showers.

Dennis S. (Rio Rancho, NM)

PS: Heading back North on the 19th of the month for another go around.

What a great hunt your group had, Dennis. Those temps in the twenties had to help. Good to hear that you are going back for more. Congrats
