How does one determine the value of a used Southbay ?

I see a few around for sale. I'm thinking of buying a Southbay and a Barnegat and keeping them both in the water this season at two different marinas. Any help would be appreciated. I believe that these boats are no longer being produced.
 
Own a southbay and picked it up as it needed a total refurb. Have seen them fpr 3 to 5 grand. Great for a one man shoot. Not spacey for a lot of decoys. My nephews marshawk carries alot more. As I do not hunt big water I carry about 6 decoys. Bought a couple more decoys and will expand to 9. Haven't heard if they are stll being made... Love my boat for where I use it.
Hunted with Capt John L. and we hunted larger water and wished I had more room...

I have seen them listed for less. Price depends on the shape of the boat, trailer and motor and how much work you need to put into it to make it hunt ready in my opinion. As my uncle stated in the previous post, they dont have a lot of room inside, however they hide in the marsh very well.
 
I have owned a South Bay for 30 yrs. It is one of the best 1 man marsh boats to hunt marshes. Not really a 2 man or open water boat, but deadly marsh boat. I have shot 3 times the amount of Waterfowl than my Duck Blind Floaters. I would highly recommend a 15 Hp, fast & light enough for one hunter to handle. Have seen one on Craigs List listed at 4,000.00. One should research condition of a package deal, Boat, Motor, & trailer. " Buyer be Wear ".

Had a mid 70's model, Too big and heavy for one man, too small for two, didn't hide as well as you'd of thunk.This is for MY conditions. Had a few flaws that I feel shouldn't have been, but, there are a lot of guys that seem to love them. The guys I know that still have them love them more once they were split down the middle and widened for two guys ,then, they need a 25 hp.
 
the value of the boat used would depend on ribs being in tack not broke or loose even dry without water in them. the problem begins from start floor boards screwed to rib letting water in then freezing and popping loose. then next problem is the interior stakes flex and break causing floor of hull to float or flex. next check motor board for strength their just plywood and rot over years of use. I then look at over all condition of hull rub rail and cracks look at the top of bow in front soft no support. I then look at condition of grass rails and flaps if all of this is sound you have a good boat. any of the problems above decreases value by a lot . I have recondition a few of these boats including my own. it is a task and expensive both hrs and cost for materials. do your homework before buying
