How Many #2 Pellets are in a Black Cloud 3" shell?

its a nice killing pattern even with a few holes....good shooting on someone's part if they were aiming for the decoy....if not I suspect the intended target kept flying...

and Tom

I was wondering if you were getting out with the fleet this last week with the shift in the weather

hope that wasn't all you shot

Nice pattern - was that the snow goose load or the regular BC load? ;) Denny told me that you were getting into them pretty good - enjoy!

Tom

It was a regular BC load. Yep we Did ok but had to work for them. Denny didn't shoot the one in the pic. The one in the pic got shot by a guy that is not used to hunting divers.

Well obviously your buddies can't take care of fine decoys. Are you looking for new buddies? I will take care of the equipment. Or, tell you what, send him to me and I will put him through some intense rehab and make sure he is used and respected appropriately. :)

IT doesn't bother me a bit. He didn't do it on purpose...and in his defense he was trying to rake a crippled bull can. My decoy just happened to be the intermediate barrier he was focusing through. It did make for some gooood laughing though.

Tom, look at it this way, it could have been a goldeneye ... and two more rounds down the bore!

Bob Furia's sons would tell you that this block now has character! I think there was a discarded chapter in Stephan Crane's book that dealt with wounded decoys... The editor nixed it, because he felt it lacked context. I think he just wasn't a waterfowler!

I totally agree on the decoy having character. I don't plan on repairing it. If it lists real bad to one side I'll glue a foot on the other to make it look like a preener :)

I have several other decoys that went through the same type of "in the field modifications". Our season closed on Friday. Once I thaw the 75lbs of ice off each decoy I'll throw up a few more pics. It may be a while...I need to rent a backhoe to clean out the inside of my truck and trailer.

Tom, hopefully you have a floor drain in your garage and it is insulated!! Although, our insulated garage is still below freezing currently.
