how safe are 14X36 flat jon boats?

hi michael dont know if you bought that14x36 yet but my buddy and myself did last season we tried it once and its been sitting on the side of the garage since. Here is the senerio two guys 230 a piece 85 lb lab gear for a duck hunt make up a weight.we had to cross a large cove off the bay on long island with light chop.3-4 inches from the rails to the water and me begging the dog not to shift his weight and me yelling this is stupid to my partner.it was scary.i normaly do stupid things to get to the ducks but that boat was one of the worst.my oppinion fix the other boat like i said its on the side of the garage since.good luck and be safe. ps mine was 12x36 but i cant imagion much of a differance.i vote nae
