How to cary pirogue in boat ?

I dirve my 15' Alumaweld Bass Boat about 30 min to where I duck hunt. Putting the pirogue in the boat & strapping it down takes up a lot of room. Has anyone made any sort of rack or carrying brackets that eliminate the problem of carrying a pirogue, canoe or kayak that takes up too much room? I was thinking about something that would lift it off the decks a few feet so we could easily sit & have room for dog & decoys...

Any ideas, plans or pictures would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome, I see you've just joined. You'll probably get a lot further by filling in your full profile and full name as required.

Here is the racks GD sells.

The way they work is the racks swing in during trailering & out during running.

Depending on your set-up, you can mount them many different ways.

You mount them with Riv-Nuts so you can remove the bases during the off season if using the boat for fishing.

The racks just slide out if you're not using a layout/pirouge that hunt.

I use Aquapods & these racks were a little to narrow for that application.

I welded up new aluminum racks that hold (2) two pods.

I also wrapped the racks with the round hot water heater insulating foam.
