howmany shells do u take

Little over a box. My "go bag" (license, flashlights, extra gloves, stupid gun lock key because I hunt in Massachusetts & so forth) is a grey 5 gallon plastic bucket. When I get below a half box I throw in another one.

a box if i'm by myself. 2 when i'm with more. Wish the 1 box rule would be in effect for pubic land in Wisconsin, some might even be done before legal light.

I have two standards.

Early season is a walk in bag its a backpack with five decoys and in one of the pockets on the bag there is a "handful" of shells. Usually I dump a box in there at the beginning of the season and then when it gets low I throw a handful of shells out of my other bag into it.

If I am not hunting with that bag it means I am most likely hunting divers out of the boat. So my blind bag has a pouch on the end of if. I dump a box into it any time I start to feel its getting low. I would assume there is always at least a box and a half in it sometimes more but when you consider diver hunting the kill to shell ratio is at least three to one and when it your boat and your dog. Your often shooting the other guys cripples as well as your own.

I am not like you purist though, it depends on the day cupped and committed is a thing of beauty no doubt about it but if its one of those days where the are skirting the ends of the lines well crossing shots are fun too!
