Some good sales on chest waders going on right now.
I found "hybrid" neoprene bottoms with breathable tops for $140.
Anyone have any experience with this type of waders?
Thinking about getting me a pair and handing my old ones to my son. We wear the same size shoe now!

Are sure you want hybrid waders and not geriatric female waders?
 
How would I tell the difference?
Can you look at the boot color and tell or will I have to look inside at the private parts??
 
I have no experience with them but really need to get some breathables after this past weekend's hunt. I believe it was as hot as teal season. I've never hunted ducks during regular season in a tshirt and had so much sweat in my light 3mm-400grm thinsulate neoprenes... don't know how you guys do it down south, or further south in Steve Sutton land

That doesn't sound so bad. Built in Depends for those days you just can't get your waders down fast enough.

Yep, it was mighty warm by noon Saturday. This weekend is going to be a lot chillier!
 
I have used Cabela's Warrior waders for fourteen years for all but my end of season hunts. My first pair survived seven years of two week trips to NoDak, as well as our U.P. season. They are starting to crack at the arch/ankle junction, so I covered the damage with contact cement and cloth tape. They are now my back-ups. You will still get condensation in the legs, particularly if you are really active while wearing them. The new pair has significantly better wear panels on the knees, legs and seat area, when compared to my original pair. I admit I am not crazy about the bob soles, particularly when the boat gets iced-up.
 
Carl: I have not used the Hybrids; I have been using the Cabela's breathable waist highs. Got them on sale for the same price. Not sure the name. The fit is not great, big around the waist. (I am used to waist-high fishing waders where the fit is usually very good.) The are first and most importantly, easy to get into. Second, you do not overheat in the warm weather like the neoprenes--but they are waders so you are warm. I also add that I have hunted in zero degree weather all morning without issues. As to durability, I have hunted over forty days in them between last year and this and no wear or product issues to date. Mistake to say that, I know.

Agreed, i'm on my second pair of warrior II's, The first pair developed a leak in the crotch after 7 yrs and are the back up pair to the newer pair. If it gets really cold, below 10 degrees I wear my wool bibs . They are much lighter, are easier to dry. I don't like the bob soles but I wear ice creepers on the lake shore once it does ice up
