While walking through the market in Wichian buri, I happened across a young lady with a big basket of cooked crickets. I walked past and then realized that i should at least eat one of them.

I asked Anya and Paew if they had ever eaten them, they gave me a "good lord no" kind of response, and I had no other choice than to go for it.

The girl said to pull of the legs and eat the rest. I did.

It was like eating a prawn shell with a bit of hazel nut in it.

So I ate the crickets
I let the girl go unharmed.
 
You are very brave. I would have worried about the fact that my beer wouldn't have tasted the same after that brunch you had to eat. Don't know if I could drink hazel nut blend coffee anymore----

Al,

my beer didn't taste the same, so I had another,
and another.

After all that beer and crickets and a 9 hour Thai Greyhound ride, I was down for the count.

PS... If you ever come to Thailand
Spend a little more and avoid the bus.
 
In another life when I spent my days amongst animals we used to cook up batches of crickets. I liked the ones we gut loaded (fed up) with garlic. They where an awesome treat. Meal worms where only so so. Grass hoppers if fed a clean diet where OK two, just had to ditch the legs, they ot caught in your teeth..
