I lost a good friend today. duckboats.net lost a good friend today

Thank you all for your caring thoughtful comments. I will get some items from his workshop that will be put on display in mine. The plan for my shop was for Jeff to move his favorite equipment into it and do all his woodworking there. I'm sad that won't happen as he was such a good friend to have around.

I pulled out a couple pictures of him from 15 years ago. Anytime the Flint and Paint Rock jumped their banks we were there in our Devlins. The gun he is holding up is his Super Fox. He was so proud to own and shoot it just like Nash Buckingham. The two mallards were stone cold dropped at 60 yards from that gun while hunting from his Black Brant. I remember it as clear as any hunt I went on. Jeff was a brilliant twisted soul. Thank you lord for letting me get to know him.

Those kind of friends are far and few between. I am so sorry to hear the news. Nothing can ever replace the relationship you had, but i hope you and you family along with Jeffs family will remember and cherish him for the man he was.
The better someone is, the harder it is to say goodbye. It's true, the price of love is pain. May his legacy live on in those left behind. My condolences.
 
Sorry for your loss Eric. I haven't been active here for a number of years (divorce and life in general) but I remember Jeff and always enjoyed his posts. May he rest in peace.

So sorry Eric,
I have 2 pictures on top of my gun safe of hunting friends that passed too soon. Doni with a group of drakes wrapped over his shoulders, and Carl and a camp mule, (he was unsure of mules and horses) loading my 6x6 Idaho bull elk into panniers on that mule.
I look at them often and miss them terribly, but thankful for the great friendship we shared, including our hunts.

I agree with many of our fellow posters. Cry, grieve, and get some things close by that remind you of that friendship, because,.... it was special.

Sorry for your lose Eric. Thoughts and prayers to you and his family. I have been here long enough to remember Jeff. He was always quick with a suggestion or a solution when builders had a question.
 
Eric, so sorry to hear you lost such a close friend. I remember Jeff posting a lot years ago, in the early days of the DHBP. Very sad that he is gone, at such a young age.

Wow, Eric, that's a shocker. Sorry for your loss and that of Jeff's family. I suppose Lee H., Chuck H., Boz and others will guide him to their new found secret honey holes. Jeff was indeed a wealth of knowledge, I always wished he posted more but understood why he didn't. May he rest in peace.
 
Eric......so sorry to hear this.....I know you treasured your friendship with Jeff....he was truly a "one of a kind" character the likes of which are irreplaceable when they leave us.....gone too soon that's for sure.....my thoughts are with you and his family......

I am very sorry to hear this. He was a great guy. I know I certainly enjoyed hunting with him and talking boat building and other hobbies and will miss him. Thoughts and prayers.
