Hello, I’m packing for a business trip to my old stomping grounds in Iowa, (with a little hunting on the side) and found that my old call lanyard is falling apart. I’m looking for recommendations on a good American made lanyard with 3-4 double drops for barrel and insert. Preferably something not real encumbering like some I’ve seen. I kinda hate putting hundreds of dollars on a crappy Chinese call lanyard that might just drop one in the drink while in the marsh.
Thanks for any input you have!

I make my own. Not that hard to do. Some good videos on the YouTube. Can find a pattern you like and follow. And you get the benefit of a lot more color selection when ordering from somewhere like Bored Paracord or Paracord Planet

Made mine in an evening while watching Star Trek Re-Runs

I make my own. Always seems I make one and then a youngin needs/wants one and I just rip the calls and bands off and hand it over. My current one I’ve had for a few years now. No takers on the current color combo and I’m ok with that. If you do the paracord idea, get yourself one of these, I can crank out a lanyard in an hour or less at this point.

Current lanyard, not current calls. Even made a thin one with very thin paracord for the pigeon bands. It doubles as the training lanyard for my pooch as all it has is a dog whistle on it.

We use Louie Vutton up here in New York :p View attachment 69585
My buddy had a shotgun wrapped Louis Vutton well before this became a thing. I swear he was years ahead of this fad. Still has that shotgun. I thought he was dumber than a bag of rocks for putting it on his gun. Now its everywhere in the waterfowl world. I think singleton, and a few others, did a LV acrylic call this summer. Everyone has LV stuff.

Real question.... did you take this pick with the duck and the lanyard sitting on top of your dogs head? I cannot for the life of me figure out what that is that duck and lanyard are resting on.

No shit? There's LV stuff in the hunting world? I must be hunting with the wrong crowd!!

I wondered the same... figured he must have shot a nutria or beaver, too.

Here you go…. I found the pic I sent my buddy this summer. Pretty sure he put an la cut on his lanyard to go with his gun lmao. I’ve seen other companies do lv logos on calls as well over time.

hahaha so... believe it or not... I had a client from Ukraine 2 years ago great guy who wanted Eider. We got him his trophy bird, I reached out to him last Christmas wishing his family well and prayers for safety.. I received a box a month later from him. Inside was a Ukrainian Army Ushanka bomber hat. Inside he scraped down "Anthony wear this for luck & safety" -God Bless. I took it out on the last day of our 2024-2025 season with freezing temps. I shot my first Canvasback ever on Long Island that morning.... certainly brought me luck.... thankfully his family is alive & well as he continues to fight for their freedoms. Definitely puts our lives here in America into perspective.

I use a Heavy Hauler Swap Out lanyard, and replaced the call drops with drops from Aves Waterfowl. I don't think either of them are american made though. It works for me. I've considered making a fancy leather lanyard like the ones Fowler Hide Supply sells with some closed cell foam inside it so it could possibly float if dropped. Maybe some day I'll make the time to do this.
