That’s right, I am done fighting for a hunting spot,
done fighting for a parking spot,
done fighting for elbow room on the trout stream.
Not going to go thru that hassle anymore. Done I tell you, done,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

at least for weekends.

I have officially joined the “old farts club”. My retirement is effective October 1st. I can now pursue my hobbies Monday thru Friday.

I still expect have many stressful and important decisions to make on a daily basis such as; Do I go fishing today or hunt squirrels? If I go fishing, do I take the boat or fish from shore? Do I throw top water or drag bottom bouncers?

I know it will be tough but I promise to push thru and prevail.

Commence to Enjoy YOURSELF!

No more weekend warrior BS and ya DO what ya want when ya Want.

Your not a Old Fart, just well seasoned and a bit well worn. The best kind of hunter and fisherman.

Figuring out what to have in your vehicle, and how to cram it all in (just in case) will become a major priority.

Ya may also have to buy another freezer...[smile]

Good for you Dave. Sounds like many more trips to Muskie country and the duck river are in your future. Enjoy your retirement.

Good for you Dave. It might take a bit but soon you will realize that there are no longer 7 days in a week. There are only two - One Sunday and Six Saturdays. Enjoy every minute.

Dave

I am so excited for you. What a great thing to reach retirement and be able to pursue your hobbies full time. Congratulations.

Eric

Dave, you forgot naps. One of the best perks of retirement. Hunt early and know the couch is waiting.

Enjoy each and every day. Jim

Congrats Dave!!!

I'm right behind you, well, about 12 years behind to be exact.....
[cool]

Congrats, mine was either going to be today or December 29th. But I have 30 days of leave to take for practice before I retire. ;-)

Congrats, Dave! Enjoy the freedom to sleep away the weekends and mock those of us still slaving away on the weekdays.

Good for you Dave. I'm sure you have earned every moment of your retirement. I look forward to hearing of your Monday through Friday hunting exploits.

Congradulations. You,ve made it! Man with your varied interests will never get bored. If during the off seasons you get a little ansy just embark on a new hunting, boating ,fishing project . Working on my seventh year of retirement and have loved every minute of it.And yes those short naps after lunch are great especially when your up at 3:20 as I was this a.m. chasing teal.

Congratulations, Dave~

I hope your weekday forays are bereft of competition - filled with lonely woods and waters and only the "racket" of wind and waves and birds.

When I was still "working" - Adult Life Phase I, I would awaken in the middle of the night, thinking about work and policies and plans and personnel and Governors and Commissioners etc. Nowadays, I still think about work in the middle of the night - but the "crises" involve paints and epoxy and wood and hardware..... Best of all, the only "boss" I need to keep happy is myself.

Here's to a long and duck-filled "Phase II",

You've always been an Old Fart to me!

Congrats on the retirement...meanwhile, I'm at work, ensuring there is something left in the Social Security accounts for all you Old Farts
