I thought it was going to hurt a lot more than it did...

Mr. Desilets if it bothers you remove it from service and send it South I will hunt it!!!! Decoys are decoys a tool of hunting if they get shot they performed without flaw. I tolerate no duck in the blocks with it's head up while it is legal shooting time. The only duck allowed is a Susie now and again, they can grace the spread unscathed any other bird and it does not get the chance. Win win situation comes to mind. A bird was shot and you get to enjoy working on a decoy.

Look on the bright side: You gun is patterning really well at that range, that is one DEAD canvasback decoy, about 8 pellets in the kill zones.
And its now a decoy with a lot more character, as if it didnt have enough already. That is one nice can, great job.
Plus the buffie didnt get away.

When diver hunting, sooner or later, the decoys take some shot. Its all part of the game.

No kidding Carl, I count 7 in the body, 1 in the neck, 2 in the head not counting the bill-shot.

Thats a nice pattern Terry...technically a water swat but still...nice shootin' pilgrim! Dead duck.
