I want to apologize to the Pa. contingent here

I don't know hockey, but that is funny right there, Lee. Do they have girls in bikinis walking around on the ice in the ring(k) holding up numbers for what round they are in?

Looked like a knee on knee with that Andre the Giant clone. What is that guy? 6' 7" and 280? He must be 7'1" with skates on. Looked like he was trying to push Hoer through the ice a couple times. Haven't heard about Old man Chelios ....would love to see him come back, up to speed.Hope they don't start Hasek Sat.

Cheli isn't just injured...he wasn't playing well. That goes for McCarty as well-my favorite hockey player. You don't have to worry about Hasek...he isn't going to get anywhere near the net unless Ozzy is injured or has a really bad game.

No need to apologize. In fact I would go so far as to ask for three more just like it.
Thanks.
Sam

How about that shift where Brooks Orpik drilled 4 Red Wings in a row and knocked all 4 down. Like the sportscaster said on the radio this morning "There's nothing better than a guy named Brooks, named after Herb Brooks, knocking the crap out of a bunch of Russians"..... (I know... only one of them was Russian, but still...)

He got some payback for sure....he's been a popular target for the Wings...especially Dallas Drake. Look for Dally to come out with guns a blazin' in game 4. I think the reason why the Wings stopped hitting in the 3rd and seemed overall benign is that they were trying very hard to stay out of the box and if you consider the last series it wouldn't take much to send one of them to the sin bin. It was a very good game...thank goodness. As much as I like it when my team shuts the other team out two games in a row it ain't good for hockey!

My buddy Adam Carpenter interviewed Drake for his radio show the other day. We went to school with Dallas and Doug the other radio host and he maintains strong ties to the Marquette, MI/ NMU hockey scene-they won the Div 1 National Championship in '91. Actually, my wife was on the same co-ed softball team with Dallas a couple other guys from the team one summer and I was always amazed at how good of a softball player he was as well-played short. Check it out...pretty cool....

How about the first period of game two? Penns were on power play it seems for over half of it.....0 for 8 was pretty sad. Last night the Wings looked flat. One of the cheesy comminators said the ice was bad and melting. Wish Mickey Redmond would be allowed to call a couple games. The first two games it looked like the Wings were playing a high school team..give me that puck punk..thank yeww vedy much. The penns played up to their potential last night and made it exciting..look for a real game Saturday.

Lee, I gotta disagree with you. All the Mickey Redmond lovers whine about not having him doing color and he is one of the best. Doc Elliot is from my home town so maybe I'm partial but I think he calls the game better than anyone alive and he throws color in for good measure(hockey is cheesy Lee!) He lives in St Clair by the way. He grew up listening to the Wings on WJR and the hawks on the radio so he calls the game like a radio announcer which I like. It's exciting. Eddie Olchyk is the Blackhawk's TV commentator and he does a decent job I think...he knows the game well and no he isn't a Mickey Redmond but his job is to remain relatively impartial. Edso works with DAve Strater quite a bit too eh. Imagine Mickey being impartial? That's why he doesn't get the nod from the national networks I'm guessing.

I didn't think the Wings looked too bad last night. They may've been a little off but not like game 4 in the last series. The ice has been a real issue for the past two series everywhere...you'd think they could figure that out. I think the Pens finally showed up and had a good game plan to disrupt the Wings style. We'll see what Babcock can come up with...gotta love it!

Terrible passing and puck handling by the wings (even when they weren't getting hit) hurt last night. The Pens had the crowd and intensity to capatalize on the mistakes. Ozzy got caught out of position a few times last night too. I was not happy. But all in all it was a good game. Nice to see the Pens show a little life.

Cheli is almost guaranteed to return for game 4 according to Mickey this morning on the radio.

Pens better win Saturday too or it's over in my backyard in 5!

I agree that Saturday should be a heck of a game. There was over 6 minutes last night back and forth without a whistle, that was awesome action. And it was actually on a TV station the most people get too, so maybe the NHL picked up a few new fans!

When it comes to commentators though... I'm kind of partial to Mike Lange... "scratch my back with a hacksaw"....

Mickey not impartial???? No shit Sherlock. That's why I like him. It seem the announcers on all the network games are just boring as hell and seem like they are calling a primary between Obama and Clinton.....poor Hillary.

WAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!! Doc Elliot is my favorite play by play guy. Mickey is my favorite color guy. I wish he was capable of being a little more impartial so they'd let him work the national games on the networks.

I agree on Doc Elliot, it's almost like listening to Ernie Harwell do a tiges game. Kirk, that was excitin is what it was! I thought my wife was going to have a stroke.....I'm afraid to take her to a game cause she would probably get in a fight in the stands...headline "98LB GRANDMOTHER ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT ON VISITING SPECTATORS".
