I want to apologize to the Pa. contingent here

Used to be you would see a broken stick maybe every three games...man, last night those sticks were breaking in a breeze.

Well one of the problems is they have figured out pretty quick how to break the other guys stick. If you watch them chop at each other all the time trying to play the puck you'll see it. It's like a Loomis GLX fly rod...you bruise it and then the next time you put it under duress the damn thing comes unassed(don't get me wrong, I love them but if you don't take care of them they will blow up in your face). I have a feeling you'll see some changes next season. Plus, those sticks are like $100 to $200 each at least! I'm sure they get some steep discounts but that's expensive "wood".

No apology necessary Lee, I'm from the Philadelphia area. I hope the Wings crush those cry baby Penguins and their captain.
Crosby is the flop king of the Eastern Conference. He should be in the running for an Oscar instead of the Conn Smythe trophy!

I just talked to my buddy Frank from PA...he's down at Ft Huachuca welding "the fence". He's rooting for the Wings too though he did say he wouldn't be terribly sad if the Pens won. I've been watching the Calder Cup on the local Chicago channel. You can root for Wilkes Barre Scranton if you want and feel good about PA.

I like "The Kid" but I have to tell you....they are setting him up for a big fall ala Lindross at the rate the media is blowing him. I think he's a class act but he's going to have pick it up a notch if he wants to be the next Gretzky or Lemeiux. If you ask me Pavel Datsuyk and Hank Zetterberg are all around better hockey players and that's just he beginning. I'm kinda sick of hearing about him. When Crosby got after Hank after the game last night I was impressed with Zs reaction...."he's just frustrated...that's all". He took the high road.

I saw too many dives from Crosby this year in the regular season and in the playoffs, so I lost a lot of respect for him.

I think the NHL should be putting in suspensions and fines like the NBA has promised for next year.

the dive is a tool just as hooking was before the strike. i like the 4 minute over time and the shootout but they should have carried that into the playoffs. when they changed the game the players had to change and the dive is a result. done well the dive draws a penalty and gives your team an advantage.

however now that there are more players doing this any fall is looked at as a dive. i dont defend crosby but clubs are making huge mistakes by putting these young kids as faces of there franchises. just look at what happened to carey price in montreal. they said before the playoffs that he would be the "new face of the franchise" then he choked terribly.

this next game will be the last of this year and the wings will have what 5 cups in a decade?

GO WINGS! I had a ticket waiting for me but it wasn't meant to be. Two of my buddies are there.

As far as diving goes I think Ed Olchyk mentioned a couple weeks ago that he thinks the league should take drastic measures and instead of matching minors you turn it around and give the "diver" a 4 minute major. The problem is who makes the decision. In my opinion, if a dive is called then they should revue it and the majority consensus should determine what the call is...not the ref on the ice. That gets technical and slows things down but I'll bet you wouldn't see many dives anymore. Maybe even give them a game misconduct if they've had one previously. The chronic divers would be squared away in no time.
