ideas for camo in open water

I will be buying a fat boy DP, I was just wondering if any one has used a dark blue tarp in open water to blend in?

If you are hunting dark blue water, I want to vacation there! Seriously, duck hunting water is usually not blue. With the addition of the flat light for those "ducky days" I would be looking at grays, or mud browns, or white/ice. My scull float is light gray, the Kalash awaiting refurb is gray too. Sneakbox is dead grass green #28 FME and matches the water color where I hunt perfectly.

I met an old timer this season on Lake Ontario. He said that on days that the water was flat--which is not very often on Lake Ontario--he would use a roll of clear plastic to cover his boat (16ft. Smoker Craft). He said it worked very well. Not sure how well it would work in chop, but it's something to consider.
