If you are considering building a Devlin boat in 2010.....

So...I was planning on building either the stretched Cackler or the Snow Goose this year...but what should the second boat be?

I'm looking for a quick, one-man boat that would also be useful for small lake fishing. It would have to be able to hold its own in waves of up to 18 inches on occasion....any suggestions?

I have always wanted to build a Mudpeep or Peeper (same boat, one is decked, one is not) that would be a real nice small/lightweight boat that could be used for hunting or lake fishing. I also think it would be a fairly seaworthy boat for it's size as well.

This might be a great place for guys here to get together and split a set. Same boat or two different ones...

Speaking of boat plans, I have a set of "Scaulp" plans that I don't need. I was going to build one at one time. Anyone want them (free if someone can use them).

Bill, Where did you get that netting you put over your dodger? I have ordered all the stuff I need to make mine from David Clark. I want to use that grass (what's the name of it again?) like you have on yours. Right now I am finishing up the seats and oars. It goes in the water on Thursday!!

Later,
Dave

Dave,
The net is black 1-3/4" or 2" nylon sports net. I got it off ebay, but there are many other online sources. It is used for batting cages and other sprots applications.

Grass is Raffia, dyed assorted colors. I used RIT dye- green, black, brown, and orange. You can get top of the line, ready to go ( pre-dyed, waterproofed, and flame retardant) at http://www.momarsh.com/invisagrass.html.
