Illinois is a lonely place.....

Hi Ryan,

I kind of filled Chad in about the Mississippi up here. The one thing I couldn't answer about pool 13 is the use of permenant blinds is to be eliminated but I couldn't remember if the 2008/2009 season is the last one or if it's 2009/2010 season. I do know the 2007/2008 was the last season for permanent blinds in pool 14. This years flood took out most of the blinds but I see there are still a few left. The ones left in pool 14 have to be removed prior to the season or the DNR is will hand out fines to the blind owners.

This is the last year for the blinds in Pool 13. I'm not sure of the date they have to be removed for most of the pool, but in the Potter's Marsh controlled area they have until May 1, 2009 to remove them before the fines start. Most of the blinds from last year got washed out in the floods up here too, should be interesting to see the quality of the ones that go in this year since they have to come back out again next spring.

Jim,
Sorry we couldn't make it to Burlington this weekend. Matt ended up having a Baseball game (rain day makeup). Anyway, I hope there is another time we can meet. Thanks for the help.

Ryan,
I am not sure how you guys keep track of the regs. But my hat is off to you for it.
I am going over to meet up with Ed today, perhaps sometime we can do the same. I head towards Iowa quite a bit for Hunt Tests.

I want to thank all of you for your help in getting me started. It is very kind of you, and Matthew and I appreciate it. We hope to meet many of you this year, somewhere in the marsh. This is a great site, and I thank Eric for the work he puts in. In is a terrific resource.

God Bless you all,
Chad

Yep....I wonder if they'll let boat blinds be used this year do to the unexpected flooding conditions? I imagine if you're still required to use a permanent blind up there this year you'd be be better off setting up on a rat hut! It'll be a be a better structure than any blind that goes up!....;-)

Above is the the sheet published last season regarding the phase out. Technically the blinds that remain in pool 14 should have been taken out already.
